Artists › Killian White

Born in 2000, Killian White studies with Christopher Marwood at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. In 2016 he won the Flax Trust Award and the Audience Prize at Clandeboye Music Festival, and he has won many prizes at Feis Ceoil including the Clyde Twelvetrees Trophy for Senior Concerto, 2015.  He won the National Concert Hall Young Musician Award in 2013 and 2015, and in 2011 was a prize winner at Noor Muusik Young Musicians’ Competition in Estonia.  More recently, Killian was the recipient of the Father Frank Maher Classical Music Award, the Aileen Gore Cup at Feis Ceoil, and the 2018 RDS Music Bursary.  Killian has performed as soloist with the Hibernian Orchestra, the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the New York Concerti Sinfonietta at Carnegie Hall and has many upcoming engagements including solo performances with the RTE Concert Orchestra, RTE National Symphony Orchestra, and a recital in London Courtesy of Irish Heritage.
Killian is also a keen ensemble and orchestral player.  In January 2016 he was principal cellist with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.  In 2016 & 2017 he participated in the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra in Switzerland. He has a particular passion for chamber music and performed in the National Concert Hall Chamber Music Gathering in January 2017 and January 2018.  In July 2017 he performed as part of the Aduno Quartet at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival.
