Artists › Charlotte Leport
Charlotte graduated from Oxford University with a BA Honours in literature.
She worked thereafter as a personal assistant for HC Robbins Landon, returning to her first love, music. As a poet, she believes that "all art aspires to the condition of music".
For over 10 years Charlotte curated and hosted the artistic series Music at The Abbey, a cultural series which promoted a synthesis between the artistic disciplines, welcoming and encouraging painters, film directors, dancers, musicians, thinkers and poets to create together. Her poetry has appeared in the London Magazine, the London Miscellany, as well as in letters to friends. It has been published by ArtesVertentes and Mizmorim festivals and performed by the poet in the context of these festivals. She has also performed and written as a poet In residence in Chateau le Plaisir, Aramon, hosted by the angelic chatelaine and artist Alexandra Hollander.
Pascal Arnault is currently setting a cycle of her poetry to music. Charlotte is also the translator of several novels and poems. Her chief sources of inspiration are the holy books, music, nature and her friends.
