About

Westport Festival of Chamber Music has grown in the past ten years into a cultural event that fits seamlessly into the Westport autumn, yet with an atmosphere and a following all of its own. Everything plays its part in this collaborative sharing between musicians, audience members, venues, organisers and local supporters. We hugely encourage you to come and share a September weekend experience that is at once laidback and highly stimulating. 

The festival was founded in 2013 by Artistic Directors, Catherine Leonard & Hugh Tinney along with Manager, Madaleine Flanagan. Following the appointment of a board of directors, the first events took place that year in Westport House and Holy Trinity Church. Since then we have registered as a charity, expanded our programme considerably an included a number of new venues. We also have an educationl programme and have furthered our collaborative work with a number of other arts agencies.
